  • VV: How long have you been a TIR trainer?
Carla: I have been a TIR trainer as an assistant in the course for some years and have recently become certified in 2003

  • VV: What inspired you to become a TIR trainer?
Carla: I consider TIR as a fundamental, extremely effective technique, for whoever wants to have a rewarding job working with people.

  • VV: What do you find rewarding about it?
Carla: I'm interested in giving the students the basic instruments, and to discover with them different applications, and links with other subjects and techniques. I also like to aid the insights, to take delight in the victories, to contribute to the development of people

  • VV: Are you willing to travel to deliver training? If so under what conditions.
Carla: I'm willing to travel and I love to do that, because the meeting of different cultures fascinates me. The limits are language (Italian and French only for now) and not neglecting my family.

  • VV: Do you have a private practice?
Carla: I work as a counselor and trainer in learning methods, using materials created by 4 years of study with R. Landais and by the research of the Prof. Feuerstein. I have developed a practice as psycho-pedagogist in the coordinating school-and family actions in situations with kids-trouble

[Ed. Note: Carla is well known and extremely well thought of in her area as a specialist in working with children with Downs Syndrome.]

  • VV: Besides TIR, what other things are you interested in?
Carla: I'm interested in all researches in the humanistic setting connected with personal growth and with self-knowledge. Nowadays I am beginning research about the therapeutic possibilities of art. I love nature and I like all the manual activities

  • VV: Describe your professional background?
Carla: I have taught for 20 years in the public school experimenting facilitating ways of learning. I founded and worked with the CIMS in the 80's (Italian Study Methods Center). I organized and taught courses for parents, teachers, therapists in cognitive and pedagogic setting in schools, associations, hospitals and public institutes. I've worked for the last 8 years in the evaluation and help of children with learning troubles.
  • VV: What other courses are you currently teaching ?
Carla:I work as the director and supervisor of the Center of Effective Learning in the Methodotre Association. I am working with my husband on the project of the new three-years' course of counseling, trauma, and personal growth. [Ed. Note: Giovanni and Carla are piloting a comprehensive three year course to encompass all of the major workshops covered in Appendix C relating to TIR and Life Stress Reduction, as well as basics of psychology including both history and methods of practice.]
